Chrystie Corns has lived in Maine, Ohio, Cape Cod, Hawaii and now back in Maine. She’s been a stay at home mom, a workaholic mom and now finds myself somewhere in between.

Erin Dow

Erin Dow is the mother of three children, ages 11, 10, and 6 and is the Expert Chef for Guiding Stars, a nutritional navigation system that evaluates the healthfulness of foods based on nutrient density. She consults with school nutrition programs on healthy kid-approved recipe and menu development with a focus on scratch cooked foods. Her career as a chef spans fifteen years.

This Update from the Lounge originally posted on Musings of Lanna Lee Maheux on May 12th, 2012.

I have got to find a way to get paid to do this. Because I am loving Lounging with LannaLee.

I recorded my 11th guest today – actually I had 2 guests (Erin Dow and Chrystie Corns) – and it was a blast. There is something to this art of conversation. I love the connection with my guests, learning new things about them and even sharing things about myself. The laughter is cleansing.

Earlier this week, I had an epiphany on how I could describe the show. And, for the life of me, I cannot remember what it was. Now, I was in the ladies room when I got said epiphany and did not have a pen or paper to write down what I came up with. I trust it will come back to me if it really is as awesome as I thought it was.

One of the things that becomes clearer and clearer to me every day is that I need not worry about what other people are doing or replicating someone else’s success. Because I can’t. I’m working on instinct and intuition with the understanding that if I keep doing what I’m doing, the path I need to follow will make itself known. If I “build it, they will come.”

So I’m building it.

And Lounging with LannaLee is going to grow. I have a new theme song by rinski from fiverr. I will be playing around with holding a monthly live streaming events using Google+. I will find ways to engage more with my audience. People are listening, but I’d like to have more listeners. How do I reach people who would be interested in this podcast? I’m trying to figure that out.

Along with the Google+ idea, I am thinking of doing a Kickstarter. In a couple of months, I will have a better idea of what kind of Kickstarter event I will host. I have lots of ideas, but none really feels like the “right” one yet. Soon I will be starting to transcribe the episodes. I have an idea of what I want to do with it, but not sure if it’s the right one. My intuition is telling me to transcribe them, and so I will.

After we recorded guest Rachel Flehinger’s episode she asked me what I was learning from our guests. That is what I’m thinking about. What am I getting out of it? So far I would say I’m getting great conversation, personal connection and inspiration for me to be a better person.

Heather Lounged with LannaLee and got a couch!

Heather Denkmire is a writer, a mother, and an artist. She helps non-profits raise money through grants with her business, grantwinners.net. It’s her children (a nearly 9 year old and a just 3 year old) who get most of her time, though. She lives in Portland with her two beautiful daughters.

We are also very excited to debut Lounging with LannaLee’s new theme song written and performed by rinski from Fiverr.com I hope you enjoy it half as much as I do!

Pat Washburn is a recovering journalist, a graduate student in computer science and a Web designer and developer. Under the name Jane Raeburn, she has written a couple of books about modern Pagan religion. Among the things that interest her are ways to use technology to tell stories and improve people’s lives. She still thinks the Internet is pretty neat. She lives in Portland, Maine, with two cats, four computers and her ex-husband’s TV.

Pat loves: naps, books (electronic and paper), swimming (she’s a late-in-life convert to the joys of exercise), and strong women characters.

She is a founding member of the improv comedy group Running with Scissors and is the winner of 2011 and 2012 Portland Phoenix Best Comedian. Rachel started her teaching career in New York City and is now proud to call Maine her home.

George Hamm is well known to Maine audiences as a frequent visitor to Portland’s Comedy Connection. Hamm has performed his comedy routines across the U.S. including the Bellagio in Las Vegas, the Improv in Los Angeles, The Comedy Store and the Laugh Factory in Hollywood and the Laugh Factory in Hawaii. In the past few years George has taken his act international, performing comedy tours in China and Mexico. In August of 2007 one of George’s lifelong dreams became a reality when he performed on Broadway, under the big bright lights of Times Square in New York City! A local comic headliner, Hamm has opened for the bands Cheap Trick, Tower of Power and blues legend Leon Redbone and for comedians Jay Mohr, Robert Schimmel, Bob Marley, Kevin Nealon, Anthony Clark and Harland Williams. Hamm has appeared in three independent films over the past several years Sundowning, Open-Mic, and Pennyweight, all of which are available on DVD!
