From an undisclosed location in a basement in Maine, George and Lanna chat about being roommates and how George’s career in comedy started. George talks about his stint in the U.S. Marines and house sitting in Florida. Later they reminisce about the early days of comedy in Portland and adventures in the Combat Zone. Part 1 of 2.

Comedian George Hamm is well known to Maine audiences as a frequent visitor to Portland’s Comedy Connection. Hamm has performed his comedy routines across the U.S. including the Bellagio in Las Vegas, the Improv in Los Angeles, The Comedy Store and the Laugh Factory in Hollywood and the Laugh Factory in Hawaii. In the past few years George has taken his act international, performing comedy tours in China and Mexico. In August of 2007 one of George’s lifelong dreams became a reality when he performed on Broadway, under the big bright lights of Times Square in New York City! A local comic headliner, Hamm has opened for the bands Cheap Trick, Tower of Power and blues legend Leon Redbone and for comedians Jay Mohr, Robert Schimmel, Bob Marley, Kevin Nealon, Anthony Clark and Harland Williams. Hamm has appeared in three independent films over the past several years Sundowning, Open-Mic, and Pennyweight, all of which are available on DVD!
